Emirates to launch daily flights to Tel Aviv

Emirates announced to begin daily flights between Dubai and Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airport operating a daily service starting December 6, 2021, thus adding a new route to an already large network. SkyCargo operations were also targeted.

The deal prerequisites

As we remember The United Arab Emirates and Israel signed a historic agreement of establishing diplomatic relations between two countries last year. Before this full peace treaty, UAE didn't recognize Israel for decades. The agreement also was signed with Bahrain.

Cementing a regional geopolitical shift Israeli and UAE air companies introduced reciprocal flight service starting on August 31, 2020. Israeli flag carrier EL AL was the first to launch a nonstop commercial flight. After that, flights launched Israir and Arkia from the Holy Land part and Flydubai and Etihad from the Arabian. Hungarian low-cost WizzAir Abu Dhabi also has flights to Israel.

The route specs

The Dubai-based airline plans to deploy a Boeing 777-300ER jet offering economy, business and first-class seats. The flights will be operated according to the following schedule:

  • depart Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 2:50 PM and arrive at 4:25 PM at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport (TLV), tagged EK931
  • depart Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) at 06:25 PM and arrive at 11:25 PM to Dubai International (DXB), tagged EK932

Who would benefit?

The Emirates Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim commented:

"Emirates is excited to announce Tel Aviv, one of the region’s key gateways, as its newest destination. With the start of services in just a few weeks, Emirates will provide more options for travellers to fly better to and from Tel Aviv via Dubai. We also look forward to welcoming more business and leisure travellers from Israel to Dubai, and onwards to other destinations on Emirates’ network".

Of course, both business and customers will benefit from the flight launch. Travellers will be able to experience award-winning Emirates service in all 3 classes suggesting delicious meals, premium drinks and complimentary beverages on all flights not to mention about inflight on-demand entertainment system that offers movies, games, TV shows, music in over 40 languages. Kosher meals are also available upon request.

Israeli passengers also will have a possibility to connect to major destinations beyond Dubai: South East Asia, the Indian Ocean islands, South Africa, Australia and the Pacific. All global route networks of over 120 destinations will be available via the largest UAE city.

It is worth mentioning that customers will also benefit from a codeshare partnership with flydubai. Thus total network available for travellers totals more than 200 destinations in 100 countries.
