Indigo Partners ordered 255 Airbus 321neo

Today is the start day of the Dubai Airshow and we have a multi-billion A320neo aircraft family order. Indigo Partners placed a massive order for 255 Airbus A321neo. With this, the overall number of aircraft ordered by the equity company totaled 1, 145.

First airshow big deal

Wizz Air (Hungary), Frontier (United States), Volaris (Mexico), and JetSMART (Chile, Argentina) signed a firm order for additional 255 Airbus A321 neo. Due to the covid-19, there's nobody to predict deals as in pre-pandemic years, and the aviation world expected the first orders with special caution. Hopefully, the ice is broken.

Order details

  • Wizz Air receives 75 A321neo and 27 A321XLR
  • JetSMART - 21 A321neo and 2 A321XLR
  • Volaris - 39 A321neo aircraft
  • Frontier Airlines receives 91 A321neo

Also, Volaris and JetSMART upgrade 38 A320neo to A321neo from their existing contract.

Bill Franke, Managing Partner of Indigo Partners, commenting on the order expressed the company's commitment to A321neo, A321XLR, and Airbus in general. The co-founder also noted that they will continue to offer low fares, stimulate the markets they serve, and improve their industry-leading sustainability profile.

Indigo Partners is a privately held equity company headquartered in Phoenix, United States which has a controlling interest in Frontier Airlines, the Chilean budget airline JetSMART as well as holding stakes in Mexican low-cost airline Volaris and Hungarian carrier Wizz Air.
